E1 Spotlight is a product used by teachers and students in EF Education First schools to teach and learn English. Teachers can plan and run lessons, and students can participate in interactive activities while learning English. This product is primarily aimed at younger children learning english.
Upon joining EF, the product was already in version 1.0, and I saw the product through a large update to version 1.3. This update included the addition of more powerful features for teachers to manage their lessons, and for students to keep track of their progress.
UX design, UI design
I was initially tasked with working on the visuals and UX for the addition of "Digital Project Work" to version 1.0 of the product. "DPW" is a tool to allow students to create visual storyboards with characters, props, and clips of speech that the student can record themselves. I put together the UX for "DPW" and quickly moved onto visuals and iterated from there.
I was later tasked with taking the whole of E1 Spotlight from version 1.0 to 1.3 and giving the product a large visual and UX overhaul. Colours, icons, and typography were tweaked, and the majority of the IA and UX of the product were updated with the addition of new features.
